Day 1- Edinburgh
After meeting your guide at Edinburgh airport, you will embark on a Panoramic city Tour of Edinburgh including the old town and new town, the Port of Leith, Princes street, Calton Hill, the meadows and Arthur seat. You will then take a short walk to your lunch place and visit the royal Holyrood Palace in the afternoon.
Day 2- Edinburgh
In the morning, you will visit Edinburgh Castle, and will then enjoy a Taste of Scotland Sample Menu at the Amber Whisky restaurant. The rest of the day will be free so you can enjoy our beautiful and bustling capital, its museum, parks and friendly people.
Day 3- The Scottish Borders
You will stop at Scott’s View, overlooking the Tweed Valley, drenched in the gorses’ yellow hue, and visit the nearby statue of the great Scottish patriot, William Wallace.
You will then visit Melrose abbey. The Cistercian monks who founded it in the 12th century had close connections with the Knights Templar, and legend tells that it is the burial place of Robert the Bruce's heart, brought back from the crusades in Moorish Spain. From there, you will also see the Eildon Hills, supposedly an entrance to the Fairy Kingdom, rich in legends and history. You will then have lunch in Peebles, where you will then be able to check out the grounds for the great polish map of Scotland. In the afternoon, you will visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, made world famous in Dan Brown’s book, ‘Da Vinci Code’.
Day 4- A taste of the East
Today you will visit St Andrews, the Golf birthplace, and its cathedral. You will then enjoy a traditional lunch and will visit Glamis Castle in the afternoon. Witness to over 1000 years of history in the heart of Angus is the stunning and historic Glamis Castle. Ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne, inspiration for Shakespeare’s Macbeth and childhood home of H.M. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. We will then head to Aberdeen.
Day 5- Speyside
You will start the day with a stop at the famous Dean Shortbread factory, Huntly.
You will then discover the secrets of what makes the Speyside so famous: Whisky! You will visit one of the best Single Malt distillery of the area. After lunch, you will visit a cashmere woolen mill.
Day 6- Highlands
The first visit of the day will be Cawdor Castle. Built around a 15th century tower house, it is best known for its literary connection to Shakespeare’s Macbeth. After lunch in a traditional highland tavern, you will visit Culloden Battlefield, and then head to Inverness to enjoy some free time in the Highlands Capital.
Day 7- Loch Ness
You will leave Inverness along the Famous Loch Ness and visit the mighty Urquhart Castle.
You will then stop for photos on your way to Fort William. In the afternoon, you will discover the tragic history and dramatic beauty of Glencoe, before reaching Oban, one of the most picturesque village in the Highlands. After enjoying a walk up to a scenic viewpoint, you will settle for the night.
Day 8- The West Coast
This morning you will enjoy a scenic route to Inveraray, along the Atlantic coast. This afternoon you will visit Inveraray Castle, stronghold of the mighty clan Campbell, and head to Scotland's largest city, Glasgow.
Day 9- Glasgow
After a panoramic tour of Glasgow, you will visit Glasgow Cathedral, the only pre reformation cathedral still standing on the mainland. In the afternoon, you will visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and enjoy some free time in the City Centre.
Day 10- After visiting the Riverside Museum, you will visit the famous House for an Art Lover and enjoy a traditional high tea lunch. In the afternoon, you will explore Stirling Castle, and the Kelpies.
Day 11 – This morning you will discover Falkland Palace, a royal residence, and Dunfermline. After lunch and a view of the 3 bridges you will be back in Edinburgh.
